Our client, a leader in integrated land use and real estate development solutions, is seeking a Land Use Partner to join their Los Angeles team. With a proven track record of navigating the complex and ever-evolving world of planning, zoning, and environmental compliance, they pride themselves on delivering innovative solutions to meet the diverse needs of their commercial, industrial, residential, and hospitality clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on planning, zoning, environmental compliance, and entitlement matters for diverse development projects.
- Strategically guide clients through land use policies, including general plans, specific plans, variances, and conditional use permits.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address sensitive biological and natural resource issues, as well as emerging environmental challenges.
- Advise on complex public-private land development agreements, urban infill projects, and mixed-use developments.
- Manage compliance with evolving greenhouse gas emission requirements and other environmental regulations.
- Represent clients in entitlement approvals for projects ranging from multiphase master plans to innovative special-purpose facilities such as soundstages and distribution centres.
Qualifications:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the California State Bar.
- Extensive experience in land use, zoning, and environmental law, with a focus on real estate development.
- A demonstrated ability to navigate the intersection of regulatory, governmental, community, and natural resource interests.
- Expertise in securing entitlements, managing environmental compliance, and addressing evolving development challenges.
- Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to represent diverse client interests effectively.
